gkrellm xkb plugin
Current version: 1.05 (ChangeLog)
gkrellm-xkb is a gkrellm plugin that displays two small CapsLock/NumLock indicators and a small country flag indicating the currently-active national keyboard layout. The plugin also has a popup menu for switching the keyboard layouts.
The plugin uses the XKB X Window extension and doesn't work if this is either not available or disabled. The extension is enabled in the default configuration of XFree86 version 4 and above, so the plugin should work on any modern *NIX installation.
The screenshot on the right is worth many words of description. It shows the flag and a tooltip, which shows the name of the active keyboard layout.
Left-clicking on the flag shows a pop-up menu in which the active layout may be switched. Right-clicking changes the active layout by switching to the next layout in a rotating manner.
The plugin doesn't work with the keymap switcher in KDE.
